CFAS Programme Overview

face of the country’s Finance and Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) industry, CA Sri Lanka, came together with its partners SLASSCOM and ICTA to develop the specialised CFAS programme for aspiring candidates who want to be part of Sri Lanka’s FAO success story.

The CFAS programme which has been specifically developed based on the industry requirement, will help students to become true professionals who possess the necessary aptitude to give leadership to the industry, and help Sri Lanka to progress towards becoming a global hub and a center of excellence for Finance & Accounting outsourcing.

CFAS qualification framework has been designed to progressively enhance student’s competencies at every stage covering four key areas; Finance and Accounting, Management Aspects, Process & Quality and Professional Skills.

The unique CFAS programme also have a different methodology in its approach, where its skill development sessions and outcome based assessments are carried out to ensure that students are able to absorb the skills and knowledge easily.

Team Lead
Stage
Professional Diploma in Finance & Accounting Outsourcing Interacts with procedures, client requirements, and review documents prepared by the team. Provide direction and coordination for the team to focus towards business objectives

There are four standard  subject modules termed “capstones” at all 3 Stages,

  • Finance & Accounting Capstone     (FA)
  • Management Aspects Capstone     (MA)
  • Process & Quality Capstone     (PQ)
  • Professional Skills Capstone     (PS)

Stages and the Duration of the programme

The programme, which leads to a professional qualification recognized by the Finance & Accounting Outsourcing industry, progresses over a period of 18 months .

Each stage is of six-month duration. At the first stage, competency development is at the Associate level,  second stage at the  Senior Associate level and finally the competency development is focused at Team Lead level. These three stages are identified by the FAO industry as the three crucial levels for competency building taking into account the professional technical competencies required for a Finance & Accounting Specialist in Finance & Accounting Outsourcing Industry. Accordingly, the curriculum which is designed, developed as well as the Programme is delivered to the students in these three progressive stages.

How can I enroll to follow CFAS Course?

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Students who are eligible to follow GCE A/L Examination
  • Who have a desire to develop a career in a growing 21st Century Industry.
  • Has a passion for Finance & Accounting
  • Planning to grow a career in the BPM Industry OR Currently working in the BPM industry.

Panel of Lecturers

Our panel of lecturers are directly sourced from the industry and they possess the required number of years of practical experience, academic and professional qualifications to guide our students. The lecture panel also comprises of professionals who are working for the FAO companies who were involved in developing the CFAS programme.

Professional Training, Experience and Exposure

  • Sri Lankan BPM industry is committed to provide practical experience to CFAS students.
  • Internships / training opportunities and employment are provided to successful students by SLASSCOM Member Companies.
  • Freshers can join BPM companies as Interns or trainees on fixed term contracts’ based on their performance,  during the training / probation period, they would be absorbed into employment in the Industry.
  • Besides, the BPM companies will provide CFAS Students with opportunities to work in order to obtain hands on professional training, relevant experience and exposure to fulfill their professional training requirement of practical experience to obtain their CFAS professional qualification.
