CA Sri Lanka instills vital soft skills among passed finalists at 2-day workshop

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) continued to offer dynamic programs for the benefit of its aspiring accounting professionals by organising a 2-day skill development program which helped instill important soft skills among its passed finalists.

The program benefitted 60 passed finalists who are set to take over the reins as business leaders in the future, after successfully completing the CA Sri Lanka program.

The 2-day program was held under the patronage of CA Sri Lanka President Mr. Manil Jayesinghe, Vice President Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, Chairperson of the Students Training & Skills Development Committee Ms. Chamila Cooray and Chief Executive Officer Ms. Dulani Fernando.

The program focused extensively on a range of pertinent areas required to build holistic and successful professional accountants who will possess the ability to steer any organisation to success with the required skills and competencies.

The areas covered during the 2-day program ranged from strategy, digital disruption, innovation, marketing and leadership skills. The participants also received insights on embarking on a successful career path, as well as how to sit for an interview, draft an attractive CV and prepare an effective presentation.

The program was steered by some well-known names in the business including Ms. Aruni Rajakarier, Director of SheConsults (Pvt) Ltd, Mr. Ravi Jayawardena, Group CEO of Maliban Biscuits, Milk & Agri Group, Ms. Bernadine Jayasinghe, Managing Director of the Institute of Essential Studies, Ms. Imani Perera, Head of Learning & Development of John Keells Group, Mr. Rohan Jayaweera, Chief Marketing & Alliances Officer of John Keells Group, Mr. Mahendra Jayasekara, Managing Director of Lanka Wall Tiles PLC and Mr. Sunesh Rodrigo, DGM Strategic Transformation of MAS Holdings.

CA Sri Lanka is recognised as the preferred destination for accounting education in the country. At present, nearly 30,000 are following the globally recognised CA program which also offers multiple exit routes and guarantees employability for both part-qualified and fully qualified accounting professionals locally as well as overseas.

At present, CA Sri Lanka Chartered Accountants work in the public and private sectors as well as in many other parts of the globe including Australia, Africa, The Americas, Europe, Middle East, South East Asia and South Asia. They also enjoy vibrant careers in public practice as well as across the dynamic small and medium enterprises sector.
