“Today, the Eastern Province is reinforced with renewed energy; as it enjoys the perks of peace. The East is progressing steadily. But even with peace, we face challenges, the challenge to ensure development sustains, the challenge to make sure we produce skilled professionals for the benefit of our area, our profession and most importantly our country,” Mr. Rajapakse said.

He emphasized that the Institute has continuously endeavored to propagate the importance of chartered accountancy to every part of Sri Lanka, not limiting it to only Colombo and other major cities of the country but instead to educate the youth and future leaders in every village on the importance of choosing a successful profession, with global recognition.

“You have a world of unlimited opportunities lying ahead of you as a chartered accountant. You will be sought after by top companies in the country and your employment abroad is secure because the qualification offered at CA Sri Lanka is globally recognized,” he noted.

He expressed hope that with the opening of the new CA Sri Lanka Information Centre in Kalmunai, the number of student registrations from the province will see a remarkable increase in the coming year.
