The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) marked an important milestone of academic and professional excellence in the field of accounting as it formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL) in December.
The MoU paving way for the strategic partnership to foster academic and professional growth was signed by Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, outgoing president of CA Sri Lanka, and Prof. G.A.S. Ginigaddara, vice chancellor of the Rajarata University.
The collaboration between CA Sri Lanka and RUSL highlights the shared dedication of both institutions to the advancement of education, the promotion of research, and the cultivation of the next generation of Chartered Accountants.
As part of the collaboration, CA Sri Lanka will support the academic journey of undergraduates and graduates of the Faculty of Management Studies of the Department of Accountancy and Finance of the Rajarata University, while CA Sri Lanka will also provide exemptions, facilitating eligible students to enrol in the globally sought-after Chartered Accounting programme offered by CA Sri Lanka. The initiative aims to empower undergraduates and graduates to embark on a transformative professional journey, ultimately becoming Chartered Accountants and contributing to the nation's pool of highly skilled professionals.
The collaboration extends beyond student support, emphasising the importance of academic and professional exchange between the two institutions. Lecturers from both CA Sri Lanka and RUSL will have the opportunity to participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences focused on accounting themes and topics. This exchange of ideas and expertise aims to enrich the learning experience for both students and educators.
Another key highlight of the agreement is the reciprocal access granted to lecturers from both institutions. Lecturers from RUSL will have access to CA Sri Lanka's extensive library, while CA Sri Lanka's lecturers will benefit from the academic resources at RUSL. This collaboration is poised to foster collaborative research and development, joint research projects, and knowledge sharing, thereby contributing to innovative solutions in the fields of accounting, finance and related disciplines.
