Embracing its role as a world-class professional body, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) continued to expand its global footprint by establishing a new chapter in the United Kingdom.

The CA Sri Lanka United Kingdom Chapter was formally unveiled at a special event in Greater London, in the presence of a large number of CA Sri Lanka qualified Chartered Accountants. The formal launching ceremony was graced by Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, President of CA Sri Lanka.

CA Sri Lanka enjoys a presence of over 150 members in the UK, who are making significant contributions to diverse industries across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Designed to be a supportive hub for CA members residing in the United Kingdom, the CA Chapter is poised to elevate their expertise, foster a vibrant platform for sharing invaluable experiences, and promote continuous professional development (CPD). With a key focus on enhancing technical skills, the chapter aims to ensure CA Sri Lanka’s Chartered Accountants meet the mandatory CPD requirements set by CA Sri Lanka, aligning seamlessly with international regulations.

During his address, Mr. Bandara underscored CA Sri Lanka's strategic global expansion, consciously targeting regions with a substantial concentration of members. "I am optimistic that the establishment of a new CA Sri Lanka Chapter in the United Kingdom will signify the beginning of a mutually enriching relationship, not only within our profession but also as a pivotal link in strengthening the bonds between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom," he said.

During his visit to the UK, Mr. Bandara also held meetings with Mr. Malcolm Bacchus, Deputy President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and Ms. Ruth Hidalgo of Chartered Accountants Worldwide.

Over the years, CA Sri Lanka has systematically expanded its global presence by establishing chapters around the world, including in Australia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, and Canada.
