More than 100 students embark on their academic journey by enrolling in two world-class degrees at CA Sri Lanka's SAB Campus

Over 100 future professionals recently began a momentous academic journey by enrolling in the 17C intake of the Bachelor of Applied Accounting (General/Honours) and the inaugural intake of the Bachelor of Management in Business Analytics (General/Honours) conducted by the SAB Campus of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).

The event was graced by Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, President of CA Sri Lanka, Ms. Lakmali Priyangika, Acting CEO of CA Sri Lanka, Senior Professor Ariyarathna Jayamaha, Director of SAB Campus, Mr. K. G. H. U. Kariyawasam, Registrar at SAB Campus, and Mr. K. Saarankan, Project Lead at MTI Consulting, who is also an SAB Campus alumnus and a graduate of BSc. Applied Accounting (1st class).

A key distinctive attribute of the SAB Campus is its commitment to ensuring that graduates secure employment with esteemed organisations upon programme completion. As a result, the SAB Campus has gained significant popularity among school leavers. Since the launch of the Bachelor of Applied Accounting Degree in 2013, the campus has boasted of a student population of nearly 3,000 since inception, with 1,200 having successfully graduated to date.

The degrees offered by CA Sri Lanka's SAB Campus have also earned a reputation for their academic excellence and practical applicability, as the programmes equip students with the essential knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to thrive in the dynamic realms of the business world. Both the Bachelor of Applied Accounting Degree and the Bachelor of Management in Business Analytics Degree have been approved by the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education.

Addressing the new students, Mr. Sanjaya Bandara, emphasised that choosing to pursue degrees offered by CA Sri Lanka’s SAB Campus not only signifies a student's commitment to becoming successful and employable graduates but it is also a significant step towards a successful future in the fields of finance, and business analytics. "The SAB Campus is committed to providing a nurturing and immersive learning environment where students can thrive and achieve their full potential," he said.

The Bachelor of Applied Accounting General/Honours Degree aims to cultivate exceptional graduates equipped with the essential skills, competencies, and industry knowledge necessary for a successful career in accounting and finance. Upon successful completion of the degree, students will also acquire extensive knowledge and the requisite skills in accounting practices. The Bachelor of Applied Accounting General Degree spans three years, while the Bachelor of Applied Accounting Honours Degree extends to four years.

The Business Analytics Degree, which was launched this year, aims to empower students with the skills and knowledge to effectively apply technical, statistical, and relevant skills to devise solutions. A central focus of this degree is nurturing problem-solving abilities among students, who will be taught how to tackle challenges by utilising business analytics and applying concepts acquired from their course modules through engaging in practical projects. The Bachelor of Management in Business Analytics degree is structured in two stages. The duration of the Bachelor of Management in Business Analytics Degree spans three years, while the Bachelor of Management Honours in Business Analytics Degree extends to four years.
