CA Sri Lanka students ace June Business Level exams to secure top merit and subject prizes

Students of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) comfortably aced through the June Business Level I & II exam to secure the top merit and subject prizes which are awarded to the best performing students at the exams.

Business Level is the entry level of the globally recognised Chartered Accounting programme offered by CA Sri Lanka. At the Business Level I exam, Shasheeka Anjalee Siriwardhana won the first in order of merit prize, while Rizvy Fathima Rishdah won the second in order of merit prize and the third in order of merit prize was shared by Shehara Amandi Dissage and Sachini Warsha.

At the Business Level II exam, Dinali Nayanuththara Jayasinghe won the first in order of merit, while Lakshitha Sandaruwan Jayathilaka won the second in order of prize.

The subject prizes were won by a total of 12 students who are aspiring Chartered Accountants. The Financial Accounting (BL1) subject prize was shared by four CA students, namely, Achini Nimasha Madubashini, Sanduni Mekhala, Shasheeka Anjalee Siriwardhana and Anujini Kavinya Perera.

The Business Mathematics & Statistics (BL2) subject prize was won by Charith Lakshan Chithrananda, while the Business Law (BL3) subject prize was won by Rasook Mohamed Yoonus.

Hasitha Gayan Thennakoon won the Business Environment & Economic (BL4) subject prize, while the Audit, Business Process and Digitalization (BL5) subject prize was shared by Maleesha Dinuruwan and Kaumini Madara Perera. The Management Accounting (BL6) subject prize was bagged by Hirusha Kodikara, while the Business Taxation (BL7) was won by Faisal Fathima Akeela and Harrthi Subbiya won the Digital Business Strategy (BL8) subject prize.

Students who complete the Business Level successfully will qualify as a Certified Business Accountant (CBA), while students who complete the Corporate Level of the CA Sri Lanka programme, will qualify as a Certified Corporate Accountant (CCA). The Strategic Level is the third and final level of the CA Sri Lanka professional programme, and students who complete the requirements as per this level will be awarded the benchmark Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification. CA Sri Lanka’s curriculum has been structured uniquely to offer students a recognised qualification when they successfully complete each level while also guaranteeing employability.

Another unique advantage for aspiring Chartered Accountants of CA Sri Lanka is the opportunity to simultaneously obtain membership from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) at the successful completion of the CA Sri Lanka programme thereby obtaining dual membership of both CA Sri Lanka and ICAEW which will also enhance their global mobility.
