The Inaugural General Meeting (the IGM) of CA Sri Lanka – Australia (Victoria) Chapter Inc. (‘the Chapter’) was held on 27 September 2020, reaching a yet another milestone of CA Sri Lanka history and its global presence. The IGM was held as an online event due to pandemic restrictions prevailing in Victoria, Australia.

Making the Chapter a reality was a result of many historical efforts of the CA Sri Lanka members living in Australia. Well over 600 CA Sri Lanka members currently reside in Australia serving the Australian economy holding various leadership positions across many sectors.  
Over 120 CA members living across Australia attended the IGM and CA Sri Lanka was represented by the President - Manil Jayasinghe, Vice President – Sanjaya Bandara, Past Presidents - Jagath Perera, Lasantha Wickramasinghe, CEO – Dulani Fernando and members of the Council. The members formally adopted the Constitution of the Chapter and elected the first Executive Committee at the meeting.

Manil Jayesinghe, President of CA Sri Lanka, addressing the Australian members stated that the Chapter could make an immeasurable impact on members living in Australia and would be a conduit between CA Sri Lanka and members living in Australia. Millon Landers, who was elected as the first President, laying down the vision and future roadmap of the Chapter, stated that the Chapter would facilitate in bridging the gap between members living in Australia and CASL.
The occasion was further graced by the guest of honour, Samy Pasupathi, who was one of the founder members of CA Sri Lanka. In his brief address, Pasupathi elaborated the history of forming CA Sri Lanka and congratulated the Executive Committee and the Chapter in its endeavours.

The Executive Committee invites all the members who are living in Australia to get in touch with the Chapter and join the journey to make an impact on CA Sri Lanka fraternity and the broader community. Any CA Sri Lanka member currently living in Australia is eligible to become a member of the Chapter.

Purpose and Objectives of the Chapter:


  • Promote cohesion and camaraderie among members
  • Provide opportunities to enhance the capabilities of members
  • Add value to members and the wider community
  • Create greater fellowship among members
  • Assist in updating technical knowledge and skills of members
  • Assist newly arriving members in Australia
  • Collaborate with academic and professional institutions
  • Make representations to the Council of CA Sri Lanka on matters of professional interest
