CA Sri Lanka offers a range of tech-savvy services to students amidst COVID-19

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) has introduced a range of contemporary tech-savvy services for the benefit of its 37,000 students scattered all over Sri Lanka, in an effort to overcome challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new services include an online registration portal for the benefit of aspiring accountants who can register at CA Sri Lanka from the comfort of their home and kick start their career as a Chartered Accountant.

The Institute has also been conducting various online programs including webinars for its student to help them continue to update their knowledge on relevant subjects and be prepared for upcoming examinations.

Meanwhile, steps were also taken to offer all study material of the CA Sri Lanka program via the Institute’s online Learning Management System (LMS) where study packs, pilot papers and mock exams were uploaded for the benefit of the students.

For the first time in the Institute’s history, virtual lectures on the accounting subject was launched for GCE Advanced Level students to help them strengthen their knowledge on the subject for the upcoming Advanced Level exam. In the past, CA Sri Lanka organized conventional seminars in schools across the country, however due to the present situation, the Institute rose to the challenge by turning to technology to conduct the educative lectures.

Meanwhile, CA Sri Lanka’s School of Accounting and Business (SAB) which conducts the popular BSc. Applied Accounting Degree is conducting online lectures for the benefit of its undergraduates. SAB is currently running a series of lectures for part time, full time students, as well as for students who enrolled through exemptions.

The strategic business units of CA Sri Lanka, the CA Business School and the School of Taxation have been offering online lectures. The Business School has been conducting lectures and training sessions for students ensuring that they continue their courses without interruptions, while the School of Taxation has initiated the delivery of online lectures for students following the Certified Tax Advisor (CTA) program.
