CA Sri Lanka conducts three day residential programme to strengthen soft skills of future chartered accountants

With a vision aimed at ensuring future Chartered Accountants are holistic professionals equipped with the necessary soft skills to steer the corporate world, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently conducted a three day residential programme for the benefit of aspiring chartered accountants.

The programme held at the Sanctuary House, Pamunugama brought together corporate level students of CA Sri Lanka where a range of knowledge sharing, exciting and fun filled activities were carried out.

The programme consisted of model classroom sessions to knowledge enhancing exercises as well as an opportunity for fellowship for the participating students. During the programme, five resource personnel shared their thoughts with the students on a range of areas such as communication and negotiation skills, developing core competencies, marketing and business plans, mastering business strategies, and deliver winning presentations.

The resource persons at the residential programme were: Ms. Marieanne Samaraweera, Consultant, Business Planning & Plan Implementation, Dr. Ranjith Cabral, Educationist, HR Consultant / Director Kelani Cables PLC, Ms. Shalini Panditaratne, Consultant, Bank Credit Risk Management & Training, Ms. Sujatha Nadesan, Entrepreneur and Consultant in IT & Finance and Mr. Changa J Samaraweera, Consultant - Strategy, Business Management & Development.

CA Students who passed the KC5 in December 2018 and Corporate Level Students who are in KC1 – KC5 participated in the programme which was conducted by the Institute free of charge.
