The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) kicked off the Business Plan Competition for 2019 in February, with the first three regional rounds being held in Ratnapura, Bandarawela and Jaffna.
Ferguson High School won the Ratnapura regional round, while the Bandarawela Region Round was won by Bandarawela Central College and Angel International School won the Jaffna Regional Round.

Sivali Central College and Visaka Balika Vidyalaya were adjudged the runners up at the Ratnapura and Bandarawela Regional Rounds respectively, while at the Jaffna Regional Round Chundikuli Girls' College became the first runner up and St. John's College was the second runner up.

The teams that obtain the highest aggregate marks at the regional rounds will participate at the grand finale scheduled to be held in April in Colombo and the Champion of the grand finale will fly to Australia to take part in the Blue Shift Case Competition organised by the QUT Business School.
The competition aims to nurture entrepreneurial skills among the student population in Sri Lanka. The strategic partner of the CA Sri Lanka Business Plan Competition is the QUT Business School of the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, while the competition is organised in association with the Sri Lanka and Australia Chamber of Commerce (SLACC).
Around 30 schools from across Sri Lanka are taking part in this year’s competition.
