CA Sri Lanka talent scholarships for five top all round A/L students who excelled in extra-curricular activities

Five Advanced Level students who excelled at extra-curricular activities including sports were recently conferred with talent scholarships from the institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) allowing them to  pursue a career in chartered accountancy.

The five students who were awarded the CA Talent Scholarships were from Visakha Vidyalaya, Ananda College, Musaeus College, Royal College and Sri Chandananda Buddhist College and had obtained a minimum 3 passes at the GCE Advanced level exam from the bio and math streams.

The recipients of the scholarships also included Sharmal Dissanayake, the reigning number one National Champion of Sri Lanka Tennis.  The other recipients of the talent scholarship were; Ms. Himasha Kusalani Liyanage of Visakha Vidyalaya, Herath Pathirannahalage Pasindu of Ananda College, Ms. Vithanage Ushara Tharushi Perera of Musaeus College and  Yalinga Mudiyanselage Hiran Bandara Yalinga of Sri Chandananda Buddhist College.

CA Sri Lanka president Mr. Lasantha Wickremasinghe handed over the scholarships to the students at a ceremony held recently at the institute.

The CA Talent Scholarships is a new initiative launched by the institute in an effort to ensure students who excel in extra-curricular activities including sports are recognized for their achievements beyond conventional studies. The scholarships to the five students were awarded following an evaluation of all applications which were conducted by a panel of qualified industry experts.
