Students who do not wish to complete the benchmark professional qualification programme offered by CA Sri Lanka, also have the option to choose several exit routes during the CA programme instead of qualifying as an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA). The CA programme offers two exit routes, where students who successfully complete the Executive Level exam can qualify as a Certified Business Accountant (CBA), or students can also complete the Business Level exam and qualify as a Certified Senior Business Accountant (CSBA).
Both, CBA and CSBA qualified mid-level accountants are recognized and employed by both the public and private sectors in Sri Lanka. CBAs and CSBAs are increasingly in demand by the SMEs sector in Sri Lanka, while both while both CBA and CSBA qualified mid-level accountants have the opportunity to seek overseas employment.
The CA curriculum has gained much popularity over the years due to its very relevant curriculum as the institute takes steps to regularly revise the curriculum to meet with the growing demand in the market and to ensure the qualification is on par with global accounting standards.
