CA Sri Lanka’s Thilini Nadeesha Jayathunga recognized as one of South Asia’s top paper presenters

Ms. Thilini Nadeesha Jayathunga, a student of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) was recently recognized as one of South Asia’s top paper presenters after she won the 3rd best paper presenter award at the International Conference for CA Students held in Hyderabad, India.

Ms. Jayathunga, represented CA Sri Lanka at the International Conference for CA Students organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and presented a paper on ‘Existing Global Opportunities for Young CAs’ during one of the technical sessions at the conference.

Subsequent to her presentation, Ms. Jayathunga was adjudged the 3rd Best Paper Presenter at the conference among a total of 18 other speakers from the South Asian region.

The two day conference held under the theme "Jnanaarjana - Thirst For Knowledge" in Hyderabad covered contemporary issues emerging in the accounting domain and provided excellent opportunity for the students of the Chartered Accountancy programme from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal to meet and share knowledge and experiences.

Ms. Jayathunga is a Business Level Student of CA Sri Lanka and is currently undergoing practical training at KPMG to complete her training requirements as per her CA programme requirements. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management specialized in Marketing Management (Honors) from the University of Kelaniya and attended Gurukula College, Kelaniya. She also serves as the Editor of the CA Students’ Society for 2016/17.

A total of 12 students from CA Sri Lanka participated at this year’s International Conference in India.
