Kuwait Chapter

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka – Kuwait Chapter

This is a social entity comprising members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka who are working in Kuwait. This Chapter was established 21 November 2014 under the patronage of Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Anas, Charge d’ Affairs and later admitted to and formally recognized by the CA Sri Lanka on 17 February 2015 as its official Chapter of the State of Kuwait. Presently the Chapter has 50 members of the CA Sri Lanka who are living in Kuwait working in esteemed positions of dignity in the public and private sector. CA Sri Lanka – Kuwait Chapter is the first ever professional Association of Sri Lankans, with an affiliation to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

This is a not-for-profit entity patronized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait with its main objective being, inter-alia, to uplift the professional development and to enhance the visibility of professional competence and stature that Sri Lanka has gifted to its people. It operates with a 11 member committee appointed in an Annual General Meeting voted by the members and has adopted a well-drawn up transparent constitution setting out its rules and modus operandi.

The Chapter will be available for consultation for any entrepreneur in either country who wishes to be connected into mutual cross boarder investments and similar business relationships and the Chapter is well equipped with experience, expertise and ability to assist in such events.

The Main Objectives are

  • To provide facilities for interaction among members by regular meetings, other events which are useful for members.
  • To organize or conduct various continuous Professional Development programs.
  • Make representation to the Council of the CA Sri Lanka on matters of professional interest in the State of Kuwait and to offer suggestions for raising standard and status of the profession.
  • Assist the CA Sri Lanka in creating practical training facilities in the state of Kuwait for the students.
  • To hold refresher course camps at convenient centers for the benefit of members.
  • To explore feasibilities for professional and placement opportunities in the state of Kuwait.
  • Carryout such other functions as may be entrusted by the Council of the CA Sri Lanka or the Executive Committee of the Chapter, from time to time.
