The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) has consistently demonstrated exceptional standing as a leading tertiary education provider in the country, offering the best of world class qualifications for the benefit of the country’s student and professional populations.
In its continuing efforts to offer the best of local and foreign qualifications, CA Sri Lanka launched a specialized BSc. Degree in Applied Accounting, which has been approved by the University Grants Commission. The degree programme comes with a series of exemption schemes for the benefit of members of professional bodies, including exemptions for CIMA members and students, giving them the opportunity to fast-track their way to obtain a recognized academic qualification in accounting, which will further complement their professional standing in today’s complex world.
The special exemption scheme is offered to members and exam completed students as well as those who have completed the Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting and looking at progressing to the next level, thereby adding merit to their existing qualification paving the way to enjoy bigger opportunities in their career.
CA Sri Lanka is the only professional organization in the country which offers both a recognized professional qualification and an academic degree in the field of accounting.
The degree programme, which is currently on its fifth intake, has also received international recognition for its contemporary curriculum in line with international study standards, and is also followed by foreign students apart from Sri Lankans.
The CA Sri Lanka degree has also received accreditation from CPA Australia, one of the world’s largest accounting bodies which recognised the CA Sri Lanka Applied Accounting degree as an entry qualification to follow the CPA Programme, while La Trobe University, a top Australian university also entered into partnership with CA Sri Lanka allowing students following CA Sri Lanka’s BSc. Degree in Applied Accounting the opportunity to transfer into La Trobe University’s Accounting Degree programme in Australia.
