High-powered panel to speak on ‘adding value through diversity’ at CA Sri Lanka breakfast meeting

A high powered panel featuring prominent chartered accountants and corporate leaders will share their thoughts on the greater role women can play in business at a breakfast meeting organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) on 3rd March 2015.

CA Sri Lanka believes that women should play a much greater role in the corporate sector. Further, the principles of good governance require that recruitments and evaluations be based on objective criteria, taking into consideration gender diversity. In keeping with this thinking, the panel discussion, ‘Creating Value Through Diversity’ will focus on why women continue to be under-represented in senior management positions, despite possessing the knowledge and skills to reach the top of the corporate world. The discussion will also highlight the role of women chartered accountants and their contribution to the profession.

The panel will comprise; Mr. Husein Esufally, Group Chairman of Hemas Holdings PLC, Ms. Kasturi C. Wilson, Managing Director – Transportation Sector of Hemas Holdings PLC, Mr. Jonathan Alles, Chief Executive Officer of Hatton National Bank PLC, Ms. Chiranthi Cooray, Chief Human Resources Officer of Hatton National Bank PLC, Ms. Nilanthi Sivapragasam, Chief Financial Officer of Aitken Spence PLC, Ms. Jacintha Patrick, Partner of SJMS Associates and Ms. Shamila Jayasekara, Partner of KPMG. The session will be moderated by Mr. Shamindra Kulamannage, Editor in Chief of Echelon Magazine.
