Country’s top ten AL students commence journey to become chartered accountants at CA Sri Lanka

One of the country’s largest tertiary education providers, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) continued to attract the best and brightest students with the top ten 2013 Advanced Level students also joining the institute to commence their professional journey to become chartered accountants.

CA Sri Lanka attracted the island’s top ten in the commerce field including the island’s  first Ms. Erandi Kanchana of Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya (Gampaha), island’s second Ms. Ishani Hirunika Kodituwakku of Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda and the island’s third in rank Sachin Kamalanjana of Anuradhapura Central.

Among the other top ten students who commenced their journey to become ambitious chartered accountants were Ms. Sewwandi Samarakkody of Musaeus College, Lolitha Randilu of Bandaranyake College, Ms. Lasanthi Chandramali of Rathnavali Balika, W. C. C. Perera of Trinity College, Ms. Navodha Dilmini of Girls High School (Kandy), Ms. Wasana Sandamali of Rathnavali Balika and the island’s tenth in rank, Pasindu Anuranga of Thakshila Central College.

CA Sri Lanka’s professional qualification in chartered accountancy is globally recognized due to its versatile curriculum which is updated regularly to keep up with changes and trends both locally and globally.

In its capacity as one of the country’s largest tertiary education providers, CA Sri Lanka at present enjoys a mammoth student base of over 41,000 active students who are studying to be chartered accountants.

The institute which is also one of the largest and foremost professional organizations in the country has over 4400 members, a significant percentage of who give leadership to the country’s corporate sector.

Of the 4400 members, over 30 percent of the membership serves in overseas positions across some 40 countries, which is testament to the qualification’s global recognition.

CA Sri Lanka recently unveiled its landmark new curriculum which will come into effect from next year and aspires to produce visionary chartered accountants in keeping with changing times and market requirements. The revised curriculum was developed in keeping with the evolving market needs in mind ensuring proficient chartered accountants with the required leadership skills to drive businesses across any sector using their unique financial acumen.
