High-level panel of experts to share insights on government’s 2015 budget at CA Sri Lanka’s annual budget seminar

The annual budget seminar of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) will see a host of experts including business leaders who will share their insights on the government’s national budget for 2015.

The seminar which will be held on Tuesday, 28th October 2014 at the Kingsbury Colombo, will see a panel session comprising of Mr. Arjuna Herath, President of CA Sri Lanka, Mr. Sajith Attygalle, Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, Mrs. Wasanthi Manchanayake, Commissioner General of the Inland Revenue, Mrs. Dhammika Gunathilaka, Senior Commissioner of the Inland Revenue, Mr. Suresh Shah, Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ronnie Peiris, Group Finance Director of John Keells Holdings, Mr. N.R. Gajendran, Partner of Gajma & Co, Mr. Duminda Hulangamuwa, Chairman of the Faculty of Taxation of CA Sri Lanka and Mrs. Sharmila Jayasekara, Partner of KPMG.

This year’s CA Sri Lanka budget seminar will give participants the opportunity to interact more with the specialized panel, who will not only share their views on the government’s budget but will also answer questions pertaining to the government’s future outlook.

During the seminar, Mr. Attygalle will speak on the policy framework within which the budget 2015 was presented, whilst Mrs. Manchanayake will focus on the RAMIS project and its implementation. Mr. Shah and Mr. Peiris will offer the private sector perspectives of the budget and Mrs. Jayasekara and Mr. Gajendran will provide the broader tax issues arising out of the budget 2015. Mrs. Jayasekara will present the budget highlights and Mrs. Gunathilaka will share her views on the implementation issues arising from the tax proposals. The session will be moderated by Mr. Hulangamuwa.
