CA Sri Lanka Training Partners Forum to focus on how to develop a competent professional for 2020 and beyond

The importance of developing a competent professional who could successfully steer businesses will be the primary focus at the inaugural Training Partners Forum organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).

The forum which aims to provide insight and understanding of the gaps identified in the training of chartered accountants will be complemented with a special presentation by Prof. Vasanthi Sirinivasan, Associate Professor in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management and Chairperson of the Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore who will speak on ‘Developing a Competent Professional’ during the forum on 12th May 2014.

The inaugural forum will also be an important platform where training partners will be educated on the ground breaking 2015 syllabus of CA Sri Lanka which was launched early this year, and will also feature a special presentation by Mr. Manil Jayesinghe, Chairman of the Education & Curriculum Development Committee of CA Sri Lanka who will speak on the role of practical training and how it would help create a ‘2020 ready’ Chartered Accountant to spearhead businesses across all sectors.

Practical training plays a vital role in producing fully-fledged chartered accountants who not only command astute knowledge to be fully competent accountancy professionals but are also business leaders who have the ability to spearhead any organization.

The 2015 ground-breaking curriculum launched by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) pays significant attention towards the practical training and development pillar, which aims to produce chartered accountants who will have the ability to partner businesses through financial leadership.

Training organisations are recognised as a key stakeholder by CA Sri Lanka as they help groom chartered accountants to both Sri Lanka and the world through three year-long practical training which is a unique aspect of the chartered accountancy curriculum.
