The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) will conduct three programmes focusing on Small and Medium Sized Entities (SME) development in conjunction with Deutsche Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in April and May 2014.
CA Sri Lanka will kick off a seminar on Sri Lanka Accounting Standard for Medium Sized Entities (SLFRS for SMEs) at Solis Hotel, Matara on 30th April 2014, which will be conducted by Upendra Wijesingha, Head of Technical at CA Sri Lanka.
The seminar which targets CFOs, accountants, and auditors of SMEs will give participants a thorough understanding on the applicable financial reporting framework for SMEs and the benefits of adopting SLFRS for SMEs.
The seminar will also educate participants on which entities are eligible for SLFRS for SMEs, principles in SLFRS for SMEs and the difference between SLFRS for SMEs vs. the full SLFRS. During the seminar, Wijesinghe will also focus on identifying the method of developing an accounting system complying with the requirement of SLFRS for SMEs during the programme.
CA Sri Lanka will also conduct two separate training programmes on Computerized Accounting Package – Sage 50 on 7th May 2014 in Matara (IDM Nations Campus) and 8th May 2014 in Badulla (ESOFT Computer Studies).
The training programme which will be conducted by Madura Gamanayaka, Managing Director of Perfect Business Solution Services (Pvt) Ltd, targets accountants and other professionals who seek to improve their knowledge on computerized accounting in connection to SMEs.
During the training programme on Computerized Accounting Package, Gamanayaka will cover a multitude of areas including computerized accounting systems and its environment, processing techniques used for computerized accounting, computerized trading company with main modules, G/L with cash book and bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable ledger, financial and cash flow budgets and financial reporting.
