The Chartered Accountants Premier League (CAPL) was held on the 28th September 2013 at the Bloomfield grounds, Colombo as a day and night event. A total of 24 teams participated this year, which was a significant increase compared to the last year. The teams were divided in to 8 groups with three teams in each group with the group tops qualifying for the quarter finals. i.e.: Super 8s
The event was filled with fun items such as with DJ music, Food stalls, Play area for kids and many more.
Charted Accountants Students’ Society (CA Students’ Society) took part in the tournament as an invitation team and got the opportunity to be selected for the super 8s after emerging at the top of the group.
CA Students’ Society won the group matches against PWCand Super 7s comfortably and was the first team to be selected for the quarter finals. Then the CA Students’ Society team won the quarter final match beating BDO comfortably.
Unfortunately, the unbeaten CA Students’ Society team lost the match against EY 7 starts by 4 wickets.
Overall, the CA Students’ Society team was one of the best performing teams and played some tremendous games as an unit. We congratulate all the team players for their effort and success.
